Why don't you contact your local music store and see if there is a teacher available? That is a good idea. |

You can just get a good lesson book at first and start out on your own. Later on, you can get a teacher if you want to learn more about technique and style...
If you're learning classical, I recommend a teacher right away, though... |

I think getting a teacher will probably be a good thing no matter what. I haven't had one... but I guess that having someone show you what you need to do eliminates all that confusion and frustration from trying to find what you need to do to make progress. |

That is very true.. They can also show you what to practice to improve your skills as much as possible.. |

Dude practice i just started making up stuff and it is very fun. So just screw around some and practice other stuff that a teacher gave you or other good stuff. |
