Cheers to Slayer co-founder and guitarist, Jeff Hanneman, who passed away this morning. |

Just posted this to Facebook two hours ago.
"I was never a huge Slayer fan, but I understand and appreciate their vast contributions to the survival and continuation of Heavy Metal over the years; especially through the 1990's. R.I.P. Jeff Hanneman, his legend will live on in metal forever." |

They say the liver failure could have resulted from a spider bite more than a year ago. |

Yeah, he got a flesh eating disease from that bite and missed part of a tour. I remember Gary Holt(Exodus)filled in for him. |

I was lucky enough to see him a couple times with Slayer. The most memorable was at the Big 4 a couple years ago in Indio. RIP Jeff. |

Yeah, this is a bummer. At least I don't have to add him to the list of musicians whom I appreciate and will never see perform. |
