last.fm

Does anyone here use www.last.fm? Someone introduced me to it last night, and from what I've seen so far, it's pretty good.

You create a profile, download a program, and then whatever you listen to in Windows Media Player or whatever you use appears on your profile, and gradually builds up a musical image of yourself, and introduces you to bands who are similar to your favorite artists, as well as other people who share your tastes.

My profile isn't that good yet, as I've only been using it since last night, and your user charts are generated every week.

You can also view which artists have had the most listens over the past week, month, or whatever, from the data from everyone's playlists.

Yeah, I've been using it for a while. It's fun to look back on your weekly charts at the end of the week.

you should check out showcaseyourmusic.com its an awesome place to upload your own music and have people comment on it. i have two profiles there and no one straight up insults your music either...people give honest critique, and its just plain cool to give an unlimited amount of people access to your music....

Last.FM isn't the same sort of thing, but I might check that out anyway.
