my god... it's hideous..!

OKAY so i've been playing with a "band" lately. in a "studio". and it's been "fun". but it hit a point where... a small room with a drum kit, a bass amp, and a second guitar with a 2x12 amp... it was difficult to compete.

my amp (a small fender 1x8? frontman) could not compete. it i cranked it i was okay as far as volume goes, but i could have used a little more. but the problem was, i was pushing the amp so hard that i lost my "clean" channel because i was pushing the physical limits of the speaker!!!

well anwyay the studio will also rent you amplifiers. so i rented a 212 crate which worked really well.

man i am so long winded when i drink beer...

IS THAT a Crate 2/12 fer 50 bucks...? ..if so: cool!

You can depend on a Crate, I have used a GFX-212T (Crate 2/12) for years at studio, shows, etc, its versatile as hell, and you will never need to push it past , 3 ...no kidding. Nice Round tone as well.
I also use (and if ya can find one online, go fer it)
Roland BluesCube 1x12... dont let the size fool ya, i like it better outdoors/in bigger halls, than the Crate, but the Crate is Ideal for smaller clubs etc..
I know sounds strange big amp fer smaller shows 'little" amp fer large, but i swear man, its da truth!

btw, beat up gear sounds better, lol, its already 'been round the block' an all that ..

no. it's not a crate 212 for 50 bucks. it's a crate 212 for FORTY bucks!!!

and i should point out this is not just an ad i found on craigslist. this picture was taken of the amplifier in my living room. i found it AND i bought it. it's mine now. and it's awesome.

as i mentioned in an earlier post i had been looking at an AC15 or a marshall, or possibly a fender tube, but again... broke. this is such a great stopgap in the meantime. and the thing just reeks of street cred!!
