Epiphones are alright, but if you can get a Gibson you better believe that's the better choice. |

When I was buying my SG while back, I tried in store Epi and Gibson SG's. That gibson had gibson standard pickups. For me Epiphone sounded even a little better than Gibson SG and Gibson had 975 euros more price.
Here are many who have good experiences with Epiphone Dot, so Epi's are good. Ofcourse not as good as Gibson, but when it comes quality and price thing... Epi's are so much cheaper...

@Emp
I'm not a big Dot fan. I know of two people that own them; I played them both...not my thing. I just don't like the feel of them.
also, I'm not putting down Epiphone SGs. I own one and I love it.
@nullnaught
you should definitely get an SG. Gibson or Epiphone. I love SGs, they are absolutely my favourite guitar. The feel, the look, the sound...you can't go wrong with an SG. |

Yeah I can easily agree with DarkRiff, Im very satisfied for my Epi SG (cherry) too. Beautiful and sound very good for its price. I havent tested Dot myself, just heard good things about it but it might not be much of an shredtype guitar anyway... I thought it while back but I chose SG. |
