I like David Gilmour. He is the greatest ever. So is Jimmy Page and Alex Lifeson. Brian May is pretty cool too. |

Hmmm, Frusicante, Hendrix, Steve Vai, countless others. Yeah, I found that list a while back, it's complete sh*t. I found one a good deal better at www.digitaldreamdoor.com/pages/music0.html It has a load of lists about all kinds of genres. Frusciante is only 87 out of 200 or 300, but with the kind of players in front of him, its a lot more accurate. |

Yeah I came across that page a few years ago. The guitarist's page is fine, but when you look at the 100 greatest rock artists of the 2000s, and see that 4 of the top 6 are actually hip hop/RnB artists... And it doesn't stop there - Jay Z is 12th, Usher is 14th, Missy Elliot is 19th, Beyonce is 21st, and Destiny's Child is 30th! And the 90s aren't much better! |

Anyone draw influences from other forms of art? literature, visual art? I also am not seeing a whole lot of classical composers mentioned in here. |

Ahhh... I like to play to cartoons sometimes. Well... most of the time I don't actually watch the cartoon.. just play cartoony music.
That just sounds silly actually... |

That doesn't sound silly, lately I have been playing mostly to Super Mario World and Donkey Kong. Fun stuff. |

The guitarist from Gang of Four is a big influence. His messy style is amazing. |

Paganini!, classical evil of speed and sex driven violin madness.`

hey guys, i cant play like any of them YET. But when the time comes and the skill is perfected, I hope so much to be able to play like Eric Clapton, Dave Matthews, John Mayer, and about any Blues guitarist out there. |

Lol, Notim, I don't play cartoon themes, just music that I think fits cartoons. |

Yeah, there are a lot of great guitarists people could be unfluenced by. That's how I see it - rather than producing a specific list.
