From that position it would be hard. A 13 chord uses the formula 1 3 5 b7 9 11 13. Since this is a 7 note chord it can not be done on a 6 string. Most will omit the 11. From the root you are using,3rd fret A string, this would be the one I would use...

1 3 b7 9 13 (NO 5th) Mixolydian plays well over this

so a the formula i could use for a 13th chord in any key would.be

or if you want just the 13th note in the chord you could try an add13. depends on what you wanna do |

@gs I play in church so I have a bass, piano, organ and keyboard playing along. I let those guys hold down the bass notes and I will play just the higher strings just to fill in. A13=

@mosh i see,you play have of the seven notes in a 13th chord,while the bass and keys play the other half.very cool indeed,thanks for the help brother.
