So has it being day thing of this thing I'm doing you can guess I have nothing to do over the holidays, besides playing a crap ton of guitar and piano. So lets start this post off with John Butler! This song changed how I thought of power and emotion that music can but into you. IF you got some songs with this kind of power, or more pleas do me a favor and post it. I really could use some great music right now. So far Seasick Steve is working, but I don't know how long. In my life music has always been the gate way to free something inside myself that I couldn't express with words. At times I forget this and my music sounds like crap, but when I let go and let may hands and body do the work nothing comes close to the experience. I'm sure there are lots of you out there who know what I'm talking about. For those of you who don't I hope someday you do. If any of you know any good tricks do doing this I would like to know, it more of a day to day thing that happens for me. I think when it comes to this freedom of the soul I have to think of Erik Mongrain, most all his song come out his improve, most all he dose is in one way or another. AirTap! is a clear cut case of letting go and taking the song where it wants to be. This was a song for Erik that he was always playing and still 'learning' today. The song he record in this video was only what the song was at this time. He freedom takes over a song becomes a living thing, it will age and change just like you are me. One of my personal favorites has to be Fusions. Gets me every time! (side note the tuning is crazy! they say it drop A but its more of a tweek from that) Here is a great articles/video I know of, they really help put the imagined into prospective. One changed my life for ever, guess which one. The Power of Music from Life File Videos on Vimeo. The power of music Bombay Jayashri Ramnath Music has the power to cause emotions to well up within us. These feelings are gripping - often irresistible - and seem to emerge from nowhere. These feelings colour our moods, affect our perceptions and generate a behavioural pattern. The indisputable fact about music is its power to evoke emotions. Is there anyone, for whom, music is completely emotional - neutral? Music has the ability to inevitably tap the still, mysterious deep well of our emotions. Stand By Me | Playing For Change | Song Around The World from Concord Music Group on Vimeo. August Rush (2007) Wizard: You know what music is? God's little reminder that there's something else besides us in this universe, a harmonic connection between all living beings, every where, even the stars. Good movie. So that's all I think I can get though today, I hope this moved you some thing inside you as it did me. Hell seen these so many times and I still get water eyed. Someday I hope that my music can be has moving, but I know that this will come in its own time just like it will for you. Music is a force greater then are own, it is the unteachable. Like perfection, it has been seeked after from the dawn of man. It is something we can feel, but can not see. We reach out to feel it, but it passes though us. It is unbiased, and takes no judgment on who you are. Like all things it come to us all differently, and comes to us all at different times. When all mystery or answered, music will remain indescribable. - James Pearson Peace and Love. |
