Cool Jazz

I really enjoy the cool era of jazz, but struggle to find much information on the theory behind it. Do any of you know of any good literature on this topic? Thanks!

I know I can find a bunch of jazz theory, but I really mean specific to the cool era.

Well... Cool jazz is like bebop cooled down (hey mr. obvious!). I.e. you take all the bebop stuff (mostly ii-V-I), then you calm down the pace and don't alterate the chords as much as you'd do if you were playing bebop. I also read somewhere that cool jazz has more influences from classical music than bebop has. Oh, and you're not improvisating very much either, the arrangements are more fixed.

Ehrrm.. bad explanation I know. I'm a jazz-newbie myself, and I wanna learn this stuff too... So let's hope someone recommends a great book or web site or something. :)

But when you know Jazz Guitar theory you will also know cool jazz guitar theory. They probably differ in speed and so on, but they will broadly overlap with each other
