Quick Queston

This is going to make me seem very nooby to some of you but my brother who also plays guitar (but kinda quit) His friend taught him how to read tabs and then my brother taught me how to read tabs
what i was going to ask when you read tabs for chords basicly lets just do a C sometimes they put it as
C# is that like sharp?
I've always kind of wonderd

yeah, that means C sharp, so not the thrid fret on the A string, which is C, but the one up, the fourth fret which is A C# (C sharp)
