Normally not my cup of tea but this was (like Gilbert) VERY heartfelt and emotive (fer me , at least) i love it!
so, michaelcollins, is this YOU ? If so Kudos! Well done!
having played for so damned long can sometimes be a curse instead of a blessing, as i, having learned the bulk of my "core playing" (aka habits) back in the 70's and 80's, DO NOT play very well when, lol, (the irony!) i tab out a 'tapping-solo' or something for a student, lol! (see? now THATS Irony fer ya)
It'd be nice if could " 'practice the 'me' outta 'me' " but i cant, and so the prospect of inserting a nice sweeping tap like that with any form of precision(forget regularity) is very very grim.
and as an aside:
a funny thing about all this ("oh s**t! Carls gonna rant") is that one of my best students(5 or 6 yrs) teaches ME how to do stuff like Buckethead-slaps (his dad and i took him and his pal to a Bucket-show) and such. its nice, all this 'new sound of "lead" git', its very encouraging to me that there are kids (no offense, mainly praise)willing to be sonic explorers and are using new (to ME) "ways" of getting there, that Vid = a good example of smart and forward-thinking play.
hats off
