Try using the Locrian scale for a really dark sound, but there are loads of random scales on this site that you should try experimenting with. I am also in agreement on the use of the harmonic minor. Rave-On |

minor pentatonic, harmonic minor, phrygian or locrian. The last two both feature the b2 (flatten 2nd) interval, and the locrian also includes the b5 (diminished 5th). There are loads of various ethic scales you could use as well, to give a middle eastern or asian sound to the song. |
