might sound like a stupid question but should I be learning melodic, harmonic or natural minor scales (at least to start) also which coincides perfectly with the major? Thanks |

Natural Minor. every natural minor key has a relative major key, like Em is Gmaj |

the Natural Minor (Aeolian mode) ..YES
but if ya gotta ask. you've answered the question yourself
:-)
Melodic + Harmonic-Minor....?
Best to hold out on these until you have a really firm grasp on the '1st" 7 modes.
(including the 6th, Aeolian/Nat-Min)
hope that helped !
RAWK!
