I like Carl recommend D'Addario 10's and D'Addario in general(i don't always use them my martin uses martin strings)
and by medium do you mean at middle ground of what people use or actually medium strings. because a middle ground is 10s(i don't think anyone should go lower), but medium is 13s which are considered heavy today(they keeped the rating form the 1950s/60s when 13s really were the medium).
as for the wrapped question. The Plain "G" string (really a banjo string) was put on to help with string bending. but as always it has it's own sound so do what your ears/guitar wants. But once you go past 11s you need a wrapped string the plain will sound bad and i don't think that is really an opinion(even lls are kind of tilted to being wrapped). |
