New and stupid.....Advice???

Im new to theory and I think I get scales / modes, can i trouble someone for a second oppinion.....

A

As shown on the scale finder, if you play the 5 shapes and string them all together, thats the notes covered for the desired scale/mode...

and
If you play the 5 shapes over the same area of fretts that covers the modes for that key too????

Like playing the 5 shapes around 7th frett would cover the modes for the key of A....root on D string.....???

If that makes sence to anyone else.. sweet.. if not sorry...

If you play those scales over the same frets that will not be the same key, because modes are just a different position of that scale. Does that make sense? Take G Major for example:

(The brackets are the position, not the fret numbers)

G Major = G(1), A(2), B(3), C(4), D(5), E(6), F#(7)
A Dorian = A(2), B(3), C(4), D(5), E(6), F#(7), G(1)
B Phrygian = B(3), C(4), D(5), E(6), F#(7), G(1), A(2)
C Lydian = C(4), D(5), E(6), F#(7), G(1), A(2), B(3)
D Mixolydian = D(5), E(6), F#(7), G(1), A(2), B(3), C(4)
E Aeolian = E(6), F#(7), G(1), A(2), B(3), C(4), D(5)
F# Locrian = F#(7), G(1), A(2), B(3), C(4), D(5), E(6)
