Help with Amp

I have a Marshall MG30DFX, and I am trying to get a good heavy thrash sound, I've been playing around with it a lot and I cant seem to get it. CAn anyone help me out with a setting?

maybe a boss distortion pedal or something would help

Ya,buy a distortion pedal,a 30 watts amp can't give you the distortion you need.(the MT-2 of Boss are *ing great for a stompboxe)

Yeah, but I live in an apartment (top floor) so I get noise complaints all the time...

I have to keep the wattage to a minimum as of now
