ok looking to get an acoustic amp but have no experience with them
seeing i only just got into playing acoustics a month or so ago.

of course i know i simply cannot go wrong with a fishman loudbox..but
i hear they are heavy as all hell and i'm looking for something thats
portable. there are 2 on craigslist one's a single channel performer,
the other a 300W pro series. both are priced ridiculously cheap(it is
a buyers market)weight factor aside,the price is screaming "buy me".
i would prefer a loudbox 100 which is considerably smaller and lighter
but it's hard to find them used as they are fishmans hot product at the
moment.
i'm not looking to spend over $300 on a new acoustic amp.

i was at my local GC the other day and noticed a microcube bass amp
in the martin/taylor room. is there something roland isn't telling
us about their little amps or are the folks at GC just dumb. it was
my assumption that you cannot play an e/acoustic through an electric
guitar amp. i've tried it before w/awful tone results.

Kustom makes good acoustic amps. My aunt's boyfriend plays one and it sounds really good. Then again, his acoustic guitar is frickin' insane, so it could be either that is making or breaking the sound.

Also try out bass/keyboard amps. I have an old bass amp that makes my acoustic sound so full and pertty.

My brother has an crate that he uses alot and it has a mike input and some fx's. It's been really reliable for him.

@telecrater

would that explain why guitar center had a roland microcube
RX bass amp in their martin/taylor room ?
i had it in my hands and was very close to buying it but thought
twice about it only because i can get the used fishman loudbox for
the same price. not to mention the resale on the fishman could
potentially be around $300ish if the economy comes around.

@brody

i did see the acoustasonic also at GC but i'm not a fan of tweed.

Well I'm not the manager of guitar center nor do i work there but I really like the basic clean tone of guitar acoustic or electric through a bass amp. I have an old late 80's yamaha 100 watt and it makes every thing sound so normal.

well,if you say you've had really good experiences using acoustics
through bass amps then i'd have to say GC has it there for one reason.
it probably sounds pretty sweet as an acoustic amp. i'll have to go
down and play through it.
