The only tool I REALLY used was a hand sander. Now, I only did this because I don't have a scroll saw (yet), but the sander does work rather nicely.

Did you buy one of those kit's like a saga off ebay?
I was looking at some of them last night and for $99 or so you could get a nice little guitar but I'm not sure what the end result would be. Not doubting my craftsmanship more the quality of the parts.
I was looking at something like this
