So I was playing the G major scale and I realized that the notes that comprise the scale can be used to form chords that sound good together, such as Gmaj, Am, Cmaj, Dmaj, ect.
Did I just discover something?
Also, is the G major scale the same as the C Lydian? |

As good as I'm told I am, I don't know jack when it comes to theory. There are those who can do, and those who can teach - I'm a doer. |

They sound good together because the notes that form them come from the G major scale. Nothing new there unfortunately!
Yes, G major has the same notes as C Lydian, although they start on different notes. |

TAB... just no.
To the idea, yes. Every chord used with a scale involves the notes in that scale. |

C Lydian is from G Major. That's why they sound good together
G Major
A Dorian
B Phrygian
C Lydian
D Mixolydian
E Aeolian (Natural Minor)
F# Locrian
All of these are called this because they originate from the Major scale. So naturally, C Lydian would originate from G Major.
Unfortunately, I don't think there's anything new to discover about music. Possibly have a different way of understanding, but that's probably it. Music has been around since we've walked this place, so if there is something new, then I'd be amazed.

Be amazed, just this weekend I found a new way to relieve tension of a 7 chord. (actually its a way to move the tension into a different relief) |
