a ghost note is also called an optional note. Its often tabbed like this:
3
5
(5) --Ghost
A ghost/optional note is a note you dont have to play if you dont want to and it wont make the song sound any worse. And if you want to play it you can.

ive played ghost notes for years, but never knew what they were. i got guitar pro a couple days ago and when it hits a ghost note its a little quieter, so i was just wondering why. correct me if im wrong, a dead note is plucking a string without letting it ring, and is very different than a ghost note. |
