This is just the intro I want to learn, it's Minority by Green Day.
Yes, I like some of Green Day's music. But mainly just the older tunes.
What I'm having trouble with i think is changing chords. It's the fingering that I'm not sure of, especially because G has alternate fingerings.
I can play the C fine but then I go to G and screw up.

The first part just looks like you could use the basic chord shapes for each chord and play each note individually, almost like an arpeggio.
And Green Day is ok, I have some of their older albums. I kind of think that their cut-off line for when they started to get worse was when they started to wear eye-liner. :-/

That's easy travis picking!
Thumb takes care of your lower 3 bass strings, index on the G, middle on the B, and ring on the high E
Then just learn to control each of your fingers individually and you're set.
I misread your post i think. I think you're using a standard pick:
Just get the gap picking down, and you're fine. Plus, green day is known to be a little more sloppy on the guitar, so just get it somewhere close, and it will sound fine.
And what is this alternate fingering you are talking about? I don't understand why you aren't going to just follow the tab? It's a standard C G F C progression
I suck at finger picking, but I could give it a shot.
And sloppy guitar sometimes adds to it, it sounds cool sometimes.
Well you can play a G two ways:
Normal
|-3-|---------------3----------
|-0-|--------------------------
|-0-|--------------------------
|-0-|--------------------------
|-2-|--------2-----------------
|-3-|--3-----------------------
Middle First Ring
Alternate
|-3-|------------------3------
|-0-|-------------------------
|-0-|-------------------------
|-0-|-------------------------
|-2-|---------2---------------
|-3-|--3----------------------
Ring Middle Pinky
It's the same chord, it's just that you use different figners to play it, it sounds the same but looks different.
So basically what I'm doing is playing a G with alternate fingering, but I move the pinky down one string (to the B string) to play tjhis.
