Ok, i've been practicing, like told on the finger thing, and i've been thinking on trying some scales, but i cant understand the diagram that shows the scales on this site, is there any easy scales that are in a simpler diagram that i can look at?

thats the way i learned, thats the easiest, what scales were you learning? pentatonic are the ones to start with

as bbt said, pentatonic, major, minor are the nessecary scales, most scales just base off from those, mixidonian is from major, corian is from pentatonic, most all 70s and 80s stuff is useing pentatonics. u basicly wana know this. take a 'c' penatonic. the normal, or first penatonic shape to learn is this:

thers like 5 or so shapes, thts the most commen. u can base huge solos of one penatonic. stairway to heaven, c pentatonics.

I totally agree with EMB5490 though I only know the basic Ionian or Major shape starting with the root note.
