Warm up exercise

Heres a warm up exercise that help with speed, stretching, and finger strength. Im going to point out that you can do this anywhere on the fretboard, and obviously the lower on the fret board the harder it will be.. you also can do it alternate picking or legato, doing it one way, then the other is a good idea. also if your fingers cant stretch as far as mine, dont kill yourself trying, or if they can stretch further go for it! THE NUMBERS IN ( ) REPRESENT THE FINGER TO USE (1=pointer, 2 = middle, etc) IF YOU DONT USE THE RIGHT ONES THIS WONT BE VERY EFFECTIVE this looks really long, but the exercise doesnt take long at all

The entire thing is one exercise. You should play it all to make sure your fingers are comfortable with the guitar, but i recommend playing CLEAN AND SLOWLY. This is important, as you'll be able to notice your mistakes and perfect it, gradually increasing the tempo until you reach the speed you desire.

if you cant dont try, i just tabbed as far as i could stretch them, stretch as far as you can, dont strain yourself. eventually you should be able to stretch further. like jazzy said, play it slow and clean, then slowly build up your speed

yes, all the open numbers are frets, and the numbers in the ( ) are to tell you what finger to use

by the end of it your forearm will hurt really bad :)
