no, this is a plug in adapter. it simply a box that plugs into
first 2 preamp tube sockets and then the tubes plug into it.
it has an adjustable gain knob built in.
it was so the player could keep the amp original w/o any mods.

Lance,
you wouldn't have a diagram (schematic) for that would you? I'm an electronic technician (when i'm not writing best selling horror novels). maybe we could fabricate one. Hey you're in sommerville and i'm on the cape. let me know.

i tried to contact hicks himself through his website several
times to see if he still built them or sold schematics, but i
don't think he bothers with it anymore. |

I have one. I have a 66 Pro Reverb and it did not fit perfect with my tube cover bases. So I took a small nick out. Then I plugged in. I used a boss latching footswitch which did nothing for it, it only went on, no off. After worrying about the fact that I was screwing with my baby, I undid it. It may fit a Twin better? I don't know. I was not blown away by the sound. Subjective thing, tone. I'm looking sell it for new toys. Have to sell it as is. May work with afootswitch, may not. I gave it one shot. |

NO! it was a meatball with lettuce. you're not steven king. i wish you were though, i think after mr. king is dead, he'll be remembered by the 'profound scholars' to be one of the best 20th century writers, not just a sci-fi hack, as he is seen now by snobs. |

I wanted to try a Fender Mender, so I got one. Like I said, I could not turn it off, the base did not fit entirely snug, and I never used it in a live setting, and it worried me. The Pro is 45 W of clean headroom that really lets a good pedal shine. I have a little stock Epi that goes into a 112 ear candy cab with an old 70's Sunn alnico that does a good job. I just posted to let you know I had one and was looking to sell it. Have fun. |
