I was on the scales link of this site and I noticed that the pentatonic minor scale had the same pattern for every key. wh,w,w,wh,w,wh,w,w,wh,w I think I did that right. my question is does every type of scale have a signature pattern that applies to every key in that scale? |

yes, all scales are based a series on tones/notes and patterns make up the scale. there are only 12 notes in western music and most notes have 8 tones in them, with a pattern that repeats of whole and half steps. |
