If I were to have the best sounding telecaster pickups I can find put onto a nice acoustic, how much of the awesome telecaster sound will I lose doing this?

This begs a second question. How much of the sound quality goes to the pickups? And strings and other stuff.

A telecaster pickup is meant to pick up signals from electric strings, not acoustic ones, so that would be different. Then the mass of the body is radically different, the type of bridge and neck as well.

but i think if you put a tele pickup on a strat, it could maintain some of the tele twang.

Putting the pickup on the acoustic seems really mean to the acoustic, unless you made an insert that went inside the sound hole.
