Acoustic pickups

can anybody tell me how to install a pickup and preamp into an acoustic guitar? im more curious than anything. if its not too much of a pain i might just install one into my acoustic guitar instead of buying a new electric acoustic. Thanks in advance

There's a lot that you have to do to convert a standard acoustic to an a/e. If it's a mic, you'll tape it to the side of the hole. If it's magnetic, you'll put it under the bridge section of the guitar. You will also have to increase the drill size of the bottom bolt so that your plug will fit thru it.
