naming band plz........

i just want to know how to name a band?..............coz my bandmates keeps asking me always what is our name of our band?................

Although I don't have a band and maybe I will never have one, I thought of how I would name it. It's preety interesting that many bands have name's that don't have a special meaning, or at least not a "regular"(I can't find the right word) one, like Coldplay, The Who. So I would say, you just try to find one or some words that you like hearing or saying, they don't have to mean something really. I always thought I would name my band NOBEL BANDITS or something like that because I just like hearing the word NOBEL(weard, huh?).

Also you need to think of a name that kinda sounds like the kind of music you play. For example, my old band used to play a lot of weird, experimental, mystical stuff, and we were called ILLUSION. you can't really be a band that plays nursery rhymes and call yourselves Rotting Carcass (or something like that) if you see what I mean...

YEah, Afro is right. The name of the band should sound like the music style you play. I can't get you any suggestions about the name so you can then discus it with you friends and change it, because I'm not English and I'm not that good with English BAnd NAming. You should just think together with your friends about what kind of band you're gonna be, and the name will come, from the name of your school, based on the name of your city or a place in it, from the name of a movie that you all liked or something like that.

theres some classic band naming tecniques. i was in a band and we, like many others, combined something heavy with flight kinda like led zeppelin but we were antigravity whale.

Like Afro said... the name should go with the type of music you play... unless you wanna name it something really random.

fall out boy, supposedly asked the crowd at their second gig what they should be called, someone said fall out boy, so they said, ok, lets go with that.
so yeah, sometimes random will work.
