crybaby

i recently bougth a crybaby original pedal and i just wanted to know if there are other ways to use it. by now i know 2 but i dont feel good with them
1.- press the pedal every time i hit a string. i dont like it much cause its been used by many people
2.- hit a lot of times a chord and slowly go pressing or releasing the pedal and i feel it like rage against the machine

is there other ways to use the crybaby??

leave the pedal in one position to use it as a sort of frequency filter, in the toe up position you get a boost in the bass an a reduction in treble for example,

turn the tone up on your guitar an hit lots of muted strings in a rhythm (like the start to voodoo child) an you can get a real funky vibe going on,

you can also combine it with other pedals to get some cool effects, experiment with putting it before an after distortion, as it'll sound different, thats all i can think of at the moment,

a good idea is to bend a note upwards, and at the same time push the toe down.

or play a chord and rapidly move the pedal to change the tone. an examaple of this would be Battlestar Scralatchtica by Incubus.

or play a linear riff on the low E/D string such as that in "Stockholm Syndrome" by Muse or "Rush Song" by A without wah, and then put wah on and slowly push it down as you play the riff a few times. Sounds great.

turn your gain off, and the volume and tone on your guitar up to create a crunchy sound. then play some minor pentatonic patterns with lots of muting thrown in.

keep your hand and wah moving up and down in a 16th beat rhythm. An example of this would be the guitar in the verse of "Breaking into Heaven" by The Stone Roses. When you have exhusted the minor pentatonic, then the dorian mode is also very good for playing funk.
