hello, i have decided to amplify my martin DR16Gt. The thing is i cant find the best way. I'm thinking probably a sound hole mic most likely a fishman, but like i said i don't know whats best right now. it would be very helpful if someone would tell me what is the best brand. I'm also looking at vocal mics and i was wondering what would be a satisfying
perches for that. just one more question for kicks, now that you know my situation would it be best to run through a PA system or an amp... thanks

I saw a pickup once that fit in the sound hole. it was mounted to something like a looped piece of spring steel so it stayed at the edge of the sound hole via tension. Can't find one now because i was also looking for something like you. So, i went to the martin site (i also have a martin) and they had nothing there. so for the moment i will continue to use an external mike on a mike stand and feed that into my mixer. I don't want to drill any holes in the martin.

It's called a sound hole pickup and installs with no mods to the guitar. Fisman makes a few. They're said to sound more electric though.

@Phip

I have the the exact pickup you are talking about. A friend gave one to me. They work, but do not sound natural at all. Kind of like the body of the guitar is a tin can. With a lot of adjusting on your mixer you can get decent tone, but overall, I don't care for them

I have used those before. I love em. As soon as I have the money that is what I am going to get. And they are never in your way

You could stand alone in an auditorium, that would give you some radical sound
