need help with a chord progression

i want to make a sad sounding chord progression but everything i try to do sounds lame. i want it to be in the key of Fmaj/Dmin. i know the basic chords in fmaj but not the sus and add9 ect. ive tried a progression of Dmin-Gmin-Fmaj-Cmaj-Fmaj-Cmaj but it sounds lame. i also want to use chords that do have sus and stuff. can anyone possibly help me?

Dm, Dm sus4, Dm sus2/Asus4, Am

or

Dmin, Cmin, Gmin, Edim

you might also try

Dmin, Gmin, F, Edim or Em

Dmin - Dsus4 - Dsus2sus4 - Dmin - Amin - Dmin - Fmaj - Cmaj
