Brian Setzer

I've recently been getting into this guy and he seems to take a lot of influence from saxophones in his playing. Anyone else see this?

I love Setzer. I'm not sure what you mean by influence form saxaphones in his playing. Other than than having horn players as part of his band.

I really like to play along with songs that have prominent horn parts. It's a blast if you can get your guitar to imitate the horn...

Setzer is a classic.

Check out him playing Duke Ellington's Caravan with his big band.

Aye, king of the rockers... If you are even a bit to Rockabilly and Rock 'n Roll... Brian is the man.

Also, if you like Setzer, you might also like The Reverend Horton Heat. They play similar music (Swing and Rockabilly with lots or reverb) but with a smaller band and a slightly heavier, more punk/surf-rock take. Hell, they even have outfits and instruments with flames on them just like Setzer and his band.

It really seems like there is a rockabilly revival. Even a lot of punk has some rockabilly tendencies anymore.

Yeah, The Living End is one quite interesting group of mixing Punk and rockabilly/rock'n'roll
