sweep + metronome = ?

how should i use a metronome for sweeping? should i do 3 notes a beat? or the full arpeggio per beat? help me out here =p

It depends on what your doing.

Most shredders like to do 3 string sweeps as 2 16th triplet groups with the 7th note either leading into a different sweep or being an 8th/4th.

For longer sweeps they generally like to keep them 16th notes.

Start out doing the one note per beat then move on to quarter and then 16th notes.

I have the motions down a fairly slow speed on 3 and 4 note arpeggios. I have a tough time with 2 string, and 5 and 6 string

i already have speed on three string, i need it more for 5 string with the 2nd note on the last string

alright then, my personal favorite method is to simply do 8th notes in 4/4 time at whatever tempo is necessary. that means 2 notes per beat. a note on the beat, and in between the beat. adjust the tempo accordingly. but whatever works for you, works. as long as you stay in tempo, whatever.
