I use Guitar Pro. I use it to tab out my songs (since I can't transcribe)
Also, any of you GP users, I need some help:
How do you make your notes ring out? like if I have A5 (rest) A5 (rest) A5 A5 A5 A5.. I want it to ring out that beat instead of resting.
Also,
How do I get the beats to sound like what I want them to (how I play them on my guitar) without it going too fast, because certain things seem way too fast on it.
It's like, I do, F#5/G5 G5 G5 G5 G5 X A5... the A5 doesn't ring out like it shuold and it sounds messed. And the sliding and strumming sounds too fast.
Help please?
I am also a really big noob at timing |

You have it as a longer note, say everything is an 8th, including the rests, you have the A5 be a 4th note.
Sliding wise, you can't really slow that down as too my knowledge, although I don't use guitar pro allot. As for strumming, have the notes in the chord as 16th or 32nd notes and have them ring out the whole way, I believe there is also a way to make it strum, at the same place where you designate pick strokes.
More then anything though, it's about the note types, I'm not sure where too do learn it, but think about the way note timing works.
8th notes are 2 a beat, 16th 4 a beat and so on. |

I agree, although when I buy Band In A Box, that may change. It has algorithms that accompany any recording that you put into it. |

if you press "l" I think it should tie the note to the rest. As for the timing, I know it's tough sometimes, sometimes you have to mess around with the beat/sec, sometimes you have to change the notes, sometimes you have to put them into triplets, it gets complicated... |

sorry to write more and make it more confusing, but you also sometimes have to make a single bar longer so that it fits in the long run with your song... (metal is typically in 7/8 I believe, blues rock 3/4) and sometimes you have to have more than one in your song, one for a chorus and one for the verses and bridge...I don't really know if I helped at all, but hopefully I at least got you interested in the many things Guitar Pro can edit in a song... |
