i produce music... midi is my friends

and i can play a guitar waaaay better then i can play a piano

so i was looking into getting some sort of midi guitar

either a real guitar that transmits midi through vibration i would assume

or something with a key for every fret space...

i think you can get certain pickups for guitar so it may be put onto your guitar to turn it midi, heres an example of one

We used to have a few midi guitars at school. They were really lame though. There were 6 "strings", that played like cooked spaghetti, and buttons for each fret. Ergh, it was horrible!

Instead of using a midi keyboard or midi guitar, I used to use the midi editor to input notes one by one by clicking and dragging the mouse. If you have Guitar Pro then you can input notes by clicking on an image of a guitar neck, or by using the numbers on the keyboard.

guitar pro 5 is a very good program! it is well worth the money and you get free updates with it, if you dont have a drum machine then you can make up beats on it too. i highly recomend it

There are also lots of free versions online ;)

Either way, a lot cheaper than spending loads of money on a midi guitar!

unfortunatly my setup is all hardware... no computer involved... i think all the alternatives you all have mentioned cannot touch just using a piano instead of a guitar.... there definatly are guitar inputs that pick up vibration but i head there is latency issues...and i am sure moreso as you play the bassier notes... oh well ill keep looking or waiting ... any more info would be appreciated...

That Godin really looks the business with or without a midi output.
If it plays as good as it looks, who'd need anything else?
