^ Well I didn't find "exactly" what you typed but I typed in "disc" in the control panel search, and there is a thing to make a recovery disc.
So if I do that, then I format my hard drive, then put the disc in and install it... I should be off to a new start?
I have a partitioned hard drive, the Format option is greyed out in that management thinger that you access from the control panel. Something to do with not being able to format a hard drive currently in use. How do I use the other partition?
What if my computer backs up a virus with it and I'm still fucked? Then what?
Yeah I know I ask a lot of questions but I am nowhere near as smart as you guys. I only know a bit of the basics. |

Yes it should be a new start. Windows installer should format your drive when it doin it. I suggest you to take backup for every file you would like to save. If lots of stuff, its maybe best to buy removable hard drive or big memory sticks when taking backups.
You dont have to format drive before installing windows, just take backups and put dvd in the drive and reboot computer.
Then it should msg like "press any key to boot from CD or DVD" or something like that. then press a space forexample and it start installer from dvd. But if you never did this before, ill sugest that you take some friend of yours that do it with you.
Only thing that virus or something like that stays after that is, that virus or trojan is in the some file in the other partition that you didnt formatted and when you use the file, it activates. That depends on the virus or spyware ofc.

if you decide to install windows again. when installed windows, do not put in the internet. First install say comodo firewall forexample when offline. Put computer to internet only after installing the firewall. Other things viruskillers and spyware cleaners you can install later on.
hope this helps

Thank you Empirism, I think it might be gone now because I made a new account on the computer, and it seems to be fine.
YouTube was the one opening up the shit, and I was on youtube for a bit and I was fine.
It might be gone ;D
I deleted my old user account and all of the files.
I still have my Avast! antivirus though and I think Spybot and Ad-aware too. Good thing!
If something shitty ever happens to my computer again like this, I am gonna remember this thread so I know what to do!
Thanks again guys,
Matt, Tele, Empirism, and all else who contributed.
