Fender hot rod Deluxe

Does anyone have any experiance with these amps? I'm thinking about trading my Marshall in for one.

i have a fender twin that i picked up 2nd hand. still works and sounds pretty good. sorry i cant give ya more detail than that.

Fits me quite well. I have the DeVille, loud and powerful. great control. Not a metal distortion but perfect for the tweaking of heavy distortion. The only downside with the amp is the weight. One heavy SOB. I should have gotten a smaller amp in the series.

What kind of Marshall would you be trading in? Make sure you're getting the sound you want from the DeVille. Good luck!

My brother had one and I got to Amp sit it for a while. Man the amp rocks. It was the 1x12 (i think) it was very loud. I know people say that I does not do metal real well, but it if you add anohter overdirve pedal like a tube screamer or even a juice box that amp kills.

I has 3 channels, clean, over drive and more. More being more overdrive. I'm not a huge metal fan but i will own this amp one day!!! (I may have to confiscate it from my brother) :)

I have a Marshall MG50DFX. I bought this amp before I really did my homework. I have only had it about 2 months and hate to lose money on it but I'm just not happy with this amp. The Fender hot rod deluxe seems to be the best most affordable tube amp I have seen judging from consumer reviews. I was just wanted to here some opinions from this site.

I had to give my bro's amp back but there are some devices on emapbe that you plug into the power amp out secion of the amp. what it does is drops the over all volume and lets you crank the volume and get tube saturation.

but you should hit guitar center and play one. I was blown away by this amp

How is the clean channel?

I just went and traded my Marshall MG50DFX for a Fender hot rod deluxe. This amp is awesome. The tone is incredible. I was afraid that the fender wouldn't have enough crunch to match my Marshall but it has that and then some.

This amp doesn't have an FX loop. How would I hook up FX pedals?

It should have an fx loop but there are 2 ways of doing it. chain your fx before your guitar, that's how i alwasy did it. then there is the effects loop.

i thought there was something you did between the power amp out.

It does have an fx loop...I read the owners manual and found it. It is labeled as pre amp out and power amp in. On my Marshall it was labeled fx loop I think. I am still trying to get use to it.

Also my head is pounding right now this thing is f***ing loud!

Another question. I know it will be a long way off (or at least I hope it is) but how do you know when it is time to change tubes?
