where to start...?

i've been playing for almost a year and a half and i haven't gotten anywhere, i've practiced almost every day(at least 5 times a week) and i'm still stuck, i can play some chords and stuff fine but when it comes to writing my own stuff (why i picked up a guitar) i can't do it

man do you know any scales? if you do then for starters play around with the notes in that scale and try to come up with some kinna chord progression. if not then learn some scales and some new chords besides major and minor and just have fun. don't force anything.

im guessing from ur name u like punk, i dont know much bout punk, but do u like guitar, or are u just getting frustrated on it. id sugest getting a teach, memorize the notes on fretboard,know scales, all tht shit..

no its cm punk(a wrestling thing), its my user name for everything i do online. and i'm getting frustrated but i love doing it, i just need something easy to start. and the whole music theory thing confuses the hell of me when i read it so its pointless for me to read it.

what i do.: fall in love, stay up till three o clock in the morning with ur guitar playing random chords and sing what u think. at the end, youll get a song youll really enjoy
