chords to scale help

Hello,

I'm new to this site and been playing for 6 years now all self taught! I was just wondering if anyone could tell me how the 'chords to scale' section of this site worked?

It allows you to enter the chords that are in a song, and it will tell you what scale(s) can be played over the chords in a solo. Chords are derived from scales, so it will also tell you which scale the chords come from.
