yea i know you didnt mean anything bad sorry if i gave that impression. most of my songs i play in Drop D tuning. drop D really opens up a whole new chapter in playing guitar: chords are simplified, its easier to play around the fret board when im soloing and it makes it easier to play certain chords and such that arent all that accessable in standard tuning.

I don't get why some people think drop d is bad,. its not bad it sounds rly cool and it is easier.

i play drop c but not drop.. uhh. B ? or Bb ? i dono lol im too tired right now

i played drop C for awhile and tried out drop Bb, but when you're tuned that low, you lose a lot of definition in your tone.

Not if you get thicker strings.

Oh yeah I have a question about thicker strings Bodom, thanks for bringing that up:

If you have thicker strings, if you are tapping like especially on the first string, will it sound better ? Will it be easier ? Will you hear it better ? I hear they're hard on your fingers...

hhmm...i actually never thought about that...i've been using Ernie Ball 10's (regular slinky) forever! hehe...

Well when you tune down 2 whole steps the regular strings get real loose and floppy. So by using thicker strings it really tightens them up. So yeah it sounds better, and it makes it easier to play. Its kinda like the same tension you get when you use regular strings in reg tuning. As for them being hard on the fingers I dont think, Maybe for a beginner. I use .011/.049

Sorry man, kinda forgot about that part. Yeah its going to be easier. The strings are tighter so you get more sound out of them.

nice, im gonna try them, next time im in music stop.. er.. long & mcquade i believe it is now, I'dd have to ask for a heavy strung guitar and test er out.

i smoke a lot and my throat just cant take the screaming vocals. i can sing kinda grunge like, but it doesnt fit my music. also, i dont like to do too many things that i wouldnt be able to play or do live.

id say "convert your style to grunge" but that would just be stupid
play what you like, as long as its good, not just what you CAN play but doesn't fit your style

practice...get an acoustic guitar and start with basic chord progressions and harmonize your vocal with the chords you're playing.
