I am working on a new tune for the band and the "A" part of the tune is using the following chord progression.

Em9 A13 Dmaj9 Gmaj9

The percussion group is made up of Conga, Guiro, and Shaker. The chords are played in a 3-2 Clave rhythm pattern. I would like to have a percussion break and go into a "B" section of the song. I would be interested in your thoughts where I could take it. This is the voicing on the guitar. The rhythm will be played on keys but with the same voicing.

e---x---x---x---x
B---7---7---5---10
G---7---6---6---11
D---5---5---4---9
A---7---x---5---10
E---x---5---x---x

maybe try usising these chords to play some palmuted arppeggios ala al di meola to try and match the percussion,or play in an extra beat to offset the rhythm.
just some thoughts
g2112 oops,i forgot to metion that the strokes of a clįve ryhthm are up down up up up,this must be followed to get the arpegios to achieve there desired rhythmic effect

like for instance you could play an upstroke on the A AND E string notes,a donw stroke on the B String notes, and the 3upstrokes back up acrros the G D A strings and reapeat back on the a string.
