OK I AM WORKING ON A NEW CD, TRYING TO CUT MY TIME DOWN ON THIS, I WANT TO SING AND PLAY AT THE SAME TIME, I HAVE TWO SEPERATE MICS AND WANT TO HAVE ONE GOING FOR VOCALS AND ONE GOING FOR ACOUSTIC, I HAVE ONE INPUT FOR A MIC IN THE BACK OF A COMPUTER, WHAT COMPONENT CAN I BUY TO HAVE IT SO I HAVE TWO MICS PLUGGED IN AND RECORDING AT ONCE

you could record the guitar and vocals on seperate tracks on your computer. it would sound much better, because its easier obviously to play/sing one thing at a time rather than both at once. also, using two mics simultaneously would mean that the guitar mic would also pick up a small bit of vocals as well, and the vocals would pick up a bit of guitar, which would probably make a chorusy effect. Afterwards you can re-record each part seperately if you messed up the vocals or vice versa. i'm not sure what software you're using. I used to use Cubase for this kinda thing. you've just gotta watch how much disk space it all takes up!! |

i think that its best to record them seperatly, unless youve got some studio time, cause then you can pretty much do everything.
but at home, yeah, one at a time.
also, as for software, there is a free music mixing and recording program called Audacity, just google it, itll show up. |
