Thought I'd share two recent discoveries with ya'll. 33 RPM Mac OS A great little app for breaking down the audio file to learn it by ear. You can adjust speed (w/ or w/o adjusting pitch), and loop. http://www.edenwaith.com/products/33rpm/ http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/audio/33rpm.html Foobar2000 Windows OS - Mac OS* An audio player with customizable user interface. Many UI are out there, but here's the cool part, one of the plugins allows for audio quality testing: ABX Performs a double-blind listening test between two tracks. In other words, always wondered if you could tell the difference between FLAC & V0 LAME audio codecs? Now you can test yourself, in a controlled environment. Install this plugin on your Foobar2000 app and plug in your stereo/headphones and take a blind test! http://www.foobar2000.org/ http://www.foobar2000.org/components/view/foo_abx a How to Video for ABX *Foobar2000 for the Mac OS is not an official release from Foobar, it runs using Wine. If I can find where I downloaded the mac version of Foobar2000, I'll leave a link, otherwise you'll have to search for this yourself (I remember it being on a forum containing screen shots of the installation process on a Mac.) Hope you guys find this helpful and/or enjoyable. |
