Blues Help

Can I have some help with Blues Theory..............I think I understand I think Blues involves \"Pentatonic Minor Scales?????\"............Is that true???..........And lets say that a blues song is written in the key of E which I think most of them are......................Which would make the key E Pentatonic Minor right?????................and which would mean to use the realtive major scale pattern which would be G ?????????........sound right at all???

That´s absolutely true. The E-pentatonic minor has the same notes as the G-pentatonic major, but keep in mind that the rootnote is different..

if you take the sixth note of the Natural major scale (like ex G) you get the relative minor scale
G - A-B-C-D-E(nr 6) -F# - G

if you take the third note of the relative minor scale you get the major scale for example e minor
E- F#-G(third)-A-B-C-D-E

you could just get from the minor to the major by adding 1,5 tone(three frets)

Are blues keys most usually a pentatonic minor key?

The soloist plays mostly a (pentatonic) minor scale, although the accompaniment is mostly major. That´s what makes it sound bluesy. I think this is mostly the case.

on this site under scales there is a pentatonic minor and a pentatonic blues.............whats the difference?

The pentatonic minor scale consists of five notes: 1,b3,4,5,b7
and the (pentatonic?!) blues scale of six notes: 1,b3,4,b5,5,b7
the additional "b5" is the so called blues-note,,

Yeah, the pentatonic minor is generally used more in rock-orientated stuff, e.g. Slash in G'n'R, Tony Iommi in Black Sabbath. Whereas the pentatonic blues is generally found more in the blues type stuff, e.g. Clapton, Satriani, BB King. Anyone reading this is welcome to dispute that, seeing as the two scales are so easily interchangeable.
