how do you play a diminished bar chord, a suspended bar chord, or a seven bar chord

Let's take F#dim from G major scale. That's F#, A, C. So, to figure this out, we will map out where on the neck these notes are.
On the low E string (tuned to a C), the F# is located at the 6th fret. Now we will take notes around the 6th fret to make an F#dim. Starting with this root, we continue
6x7575 -> F#dim
This structure can move up and down and would still be right. |

wait, so on the sixth string you play the sixth fret, then A on the 5th string, thats the second fret which is a really big stretch

I would just leave the 5th string out. Since the stretch is too big, you can pick up that note on another string. Of course, you could just alter your tuning to an open C, and you'd have an easier time making this chord :) |
