When putting a song together, do you mess around with chord progressions and riffs and write lyrics to fit the tune, or do you come up with lyrics first and find the right rhythm after?
I do both but have an easier time with the former... When the lyrics come first, the rhythem gets in my head and I sometimes struggle to replicate them on instruments. Sound crazy? |

I generally write the lyrics while I have an idea for the rhythm and the music in my head. |

For me, it's weird.
It's like,
I write a whole song on guitar one month, then a while later (whether it be a day, weel, month, etc.) I get lyrics and I can somehow fit them into my guitar work. it's kinda neat.
I wish I didn't struggle with replicating the rhythms as well |

You can't just borrow rhythms, mate. |

I have the opposite problem... Remembering how the notes on a riff I create is impossible for me. |

I do both, usually I made Riff based songs though, but if I have an idea for lyrics, then i write lyrics and do riffs on that, but it almost everytime I have to change the lyrics to fit on that riffs or to song. |

lol....
similar to me but i get a a few riffs together...and then a whole other riff that doesnt fit in with the other 2 and so i think about making those riffs fit in random ways like sum song actualy do, like jumpin strate from one riff to the next with no logical progression but it still sound alrite :D coz the lyrics carry it...
not really helping ya problem am i hehe |
