Here's a cool program that one of my relatives introduced to me at our family reunion this weekend. It's called The Amazing Slow Downer, and as the name suggests, it slows down any track you put into it. The great thing is, you don't have to sacrifice pitch or quality (as long as you don't go far beyond 1/2 speed, which is pretty damn slow). I used it to slow some songs down 10% - 25% and it made learning them a breeze.

Anyway, I'm sure there are many similar programs out there. If anyone knows them, go ahead and make them known.

This program is about $50, and is compatible for both Mac and Windows platforms. It really is an amazing tool, and I'm considering purchasing it.

Power Tab Editor v1.7 Free Program.
http://www.power-tab.net/guitar.php

Creates, reads and plays guitar tablature and bass tablature in the .ptb file format.
You can write your own music with this, and play it back. I think it uses midi to play back, so it don't sound as good as your guitar. There are 100's of other instruments too.

Its a great program, I use it every day.
If you do happen to get this program and can't understand how to use it... I'm more than willing to help you with it.

Power Tab is only for Windows. I use Mac, and to my knowledge, Power Tab doesn't have the function that I'm talking about. I know you can change the speed of songs in .ptb format, but this program slows down regular old .mp3 songs.

For Power Tab stuff I use TablEdit, though I'm thinking about getting Band In A Box.

I can do the same thing with Audacity, and it's free.

Windows Media Player can slow down and speed up music as well.

Haha, nice. I tried out Audacity, but it seemed like it couldn't slow it down without lowering the pitch as well.
