Here's a poem I wrote...

Give me alcohol, or give me death

I'd like to sip on the supple bottle of happiness.
Maybe I'd find a reason worth living for at the bottom.
Wonder what I'm doing down at the water.
Can't really think straight, but I'm not sure I want to.
No one likes the happy, but that's just their hang up.
Maybe they've got a point.
Maybe I'm just too blind to see it.
I don't really like where I'm going, you see.
Then again, I don't really like where I'm at.
I'm doomed to a wasteful, friend-less existence.
So give me Alcohol, or give me death.

I think your poem has a good point, cause people try to "drink away the pain"

Give me a drink-it's what I like best.
Already had a few too many-I might confess.
But if you hand that drink to me-
Believe me it would help me see!
I guess it could make it worse.
Perhaps next we meet, you and I.
I will travel in a hearse-
and you'll find I didn't tell you a lie!

Hey Skold, pretty sweet poem, i might say. Sometimes poems that dont rhyme end up sounding long or boring, or aree hard to read with a smooth rhythm, but you really nailed it with that one! *****-5 stars mate
