Humbucker pickup Question...PLEASE HELP!

OK...i have just installed a gibson '57 classic plus humbucker on my guitar. It sounds great however the bass strings dont sound as loud as the treble strings. I was told by loosening the screws that go across the humbucker I can fix the problem. Has anyone heard about this?

tilt the pickup so its higher under the bass strings and lower under the treble strings...pretty much a classic setup.

Yeah, I have heard that the distance of the pickup from the strings affects the volume of the strings. Just loosen it or tighten it until it sounds right.
