Knowing and understanding patterns is very helpful when learning the guitar. It provides you symmetries and logic. Always look out for more patterns and similarities, there are plenty. The more you recognize the easier the guitar becomes.

afarmer, come back to these charts/lesson after you have spent some time on the easier lessons. One day you will look at this and it will all make sense. It's all about becoming familiar with the neck and being able to see relationships and patterns which will help you to build chords wherever you are on the neck, along with a host of other insights. |
